We only stopped in for coffee and the bar and restaurant were lovely. Service was superb and there was a lively atmosphere. We will definitely return for a meal.
Absolutely lovely country pub. We just came for drinks but there was a great fireplace & nice atmosphere
Always enjoy our visits here. Friendly and efficient staff. Satisfying and tasty bar food although a little expensive.
Awful service and even worse food. Ordered two beef roasts to find out the meat comes rare or well done. I dont like meat that has a strong iron taste so I had to get well done which was like leather. Not good for a 25 roast. The service was slow and to top it off they ran out of Yorkshire puddings which I could see everyone around us leaving. I didnt know thered be a shortage of flour and eggs at a restaurant.. I asked for my coat back (a 1200 ski jacket) to get a wallet from the pocket to be questioned about a coat ticket which we never got - obviously making my heart sink. They then said theyd compensate for the lack of Yorkshire pud to which we got extra greens - our portion looked no bigger than anyone elses. Made a long drive out here and honestly disgusted at the price for what we got. Nothing on the White Spoon. Bought this with our Christmas money as a treat and it was just a waste of money. Thoroughly regret paying the service charge but couldnt wait to get out of there. Then the waitress charges me an extra 30 because she input the wrong amount.... Will never ever come here again.
We walked in to get lunch with our friends and tried to get a table at the bar area. The question whether there was a table becoming available in near future was answered by an incredibly rude bartender with "I don't know" and further questions were answered in a way that made us feel like they didn't want us to stay. Yes, it's was a Sunday and there were a few people there, but that's no reason to be rude to customers. I heard so much about this restaurant and was really looking forward to trying it out. After this experience, unfortunately we won't return and can't recommend a place where customers are treated this way.
